The Ikalahan are the indigenous people of Imugan, Nueva Vizcaya in Northeast Philippines. Their land comprises mountain forests and farm lands with high levels of biodiversity. In order to preserve this biodiversity, Imugan and her inhabitants are implementing different strategies to reduce waste. With their successful eco-friendly practices and zero waste programs, Imugan serves as a role model for solid waste management. However, (governmental) support is nearly given. While these photos depict the carefree lives of the children and young adults of Imugan, I question myself: What will their future land look like?
